What vaccines are required for my dog to stay with you<\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>\n We require all dogs to be up to date on Rabies, DH2PP\/DHP and Bordetella. They also must have their stool tested for any internal worms or parasites every year when staying at our location. Flea and tick prevention should also be given prior to their stay. We recommend Leptospirosis and Canine Influenza but is not required.<\/p>\n This is for the safety of your dog and the others that are welcomed into a program, these diseases are contagious and can be fatal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n What training methods and tools do you use?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We are known as \u201cBalanced Trainers\u201d, this term simply means we believe in the combination of positive and negative reinforcement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Positive Reinforcement used: food, markers, praise, and touch. Negative Reinforcement used: spatial, verbal, and physical pressure. We combined this to help guide them into make more desire behaviors by choice.<\/p>\n We correctly, safely, and humanely use any tool in the \u201ctoolbox\u201d\u00a0that the dog responds to best. Some on the tools we use are: tone of voice, body language,\u00a0slip lead, prong collar, verbal markers, food, and e-collar\/remote training collar.<\/p>\n Is my dog too young or too old to be trained?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The quick answer is absolutely not! We start training as early as 8 weeks and as late as 12 years. There is no age requirement to start setting boundaries, structure, and developing a clearer communication with your dog.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n How many times a day should I work on training\u00a0<\/span>with my dog?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Training with us is a lifestyle, not just a one hour session once a week, or training here and there. Training is happening all the time in your everyday life. Setting a routine, structure, and boundaries are just a few examples.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What are your prices?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Each dog and owner is unique and requires a particular set of skills, commands, and lifestyle changes. Therefore, the price, program, and number of sessions are best decided after your inquiry has been reviewed and discussed over the phone. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Will my dog feel like I abandoned them or forget who I am when I leave them for the board and train?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Your dog will not feel abandoned by you. Dogs tend to be a little bit stressed\/anxious when you first leave, but they settle in quickly. Dogs live in the moment and tend to have a much easier time with it than us humans do. That being said, your dog will not forget who you are! There has never been a dog that wasn\u2019t over the moon to be reunited with their owner after their program.<\/p>\n Will my dog still behave for me once they come home from a Board and Train?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n By the time your Board and Train program is finished, you as the owner will have all of the tools and knowledge you need to reinforce all of the training your dog has learned over the course of their stay. The results you get from this program are highly dependent on your level of commitment to reinforcing everything at home. For example, if your dog ignores a command you give them and you allow them to do so without any consequence or follow-through, your dog will quickly learn that they can ignore you when you ask something of them. Clients who stay consistent get consistent results.\u00a0 We are still here to support you after your dog\u2019s program and you are welcome to schedule follow-up lessons as needed.<\/p>\n What is your CANCELLATION POLICY?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n For all Board and Train programs, the deposit made to reserve the date is non-refundable.<\/p>\n For all Private Sessions and FaceTime\/Zoom Sessions, there is a 50% cancellation fee, or loss of sessions for cancelling at anytime after the payment is made.
